Zeticon is proud to present version 23.1 of the MediaHaven platform. Please read more info about the new functionalities, improvements and fixed bugs below.

As of the 22.3 release, the old MediaHaven website is no longer active. From now on uploading, searching and downloading/sharing digital assets should be done via MediaHaven 2.0!

The content uploader is still available for managing the settings. We can already announce that this will be present at least until version 23.4

Mediahaven 2.0 features

In cooperation with our customers, we keep enhancing our MediaHaven 2.0 product. We’ve continued the development of following functionalities:

Manage roles

Easily manage the roles of your organization in the ‘Management & settings’ module. Edit an existing role or create a new one and easily add the necessary functions. Also add users immediately. By default, the system creates 4 different roles: Admin, Content manager, Importer, Consultant. The functions associated with each of these roles, that provide access to a particular modules or actions, are described in the manual.

Expand the searchresults using the new filter parameter 'OR'

From now on, choose which filters you want the ability to select multiple values in the same filter. This will cause the system to see these different values as an ‘OR’ relationship and thus allow you to expand rather than refine your search results. Our Zeticon services team can help you to configure the necessary filter(s).

Autocomplete functionality on various metadata fields

While describing one or more assets, the system will give some suggestions based on the first letters you entered as values. This will be provided on different types of metadata fields, like the default fields ‘Keywords’ and ‘Albums’. The suggestions are based on previous values within that metadata field.

Search and sort in the ‘Management & Settings’ module

The capabilities to search and sort within this module were further expanded. It’s now possible to search for users by (part of) first or last name and (part of) login. Also sorting on these information and creation date of the user is available. When admin user want to search on ingest zones or usergroups, they can easily search on the name and sort the results on name or creationdate. On each page of the ‘Management & settings’ module you can select the desired organization (if you are allowed to manage multiple organizations).

Deactivate enum values in the UI

We have introduced a new feature where it is possible to place certain values from an enum field (list/summary of values) inactive. As a result, this value is still kept in the metadata when previously assigned as metadata, but is no longer available to select when describing newly uploaded items. Our Zeticon services team can help you to configure this parameter on the necessary metadata fields.

Improvements

As with every release, we have made some improvements based on feedback from our end users. You can consult them below.

  • There is a new option when selecting EDTF dates: XXXX-XX-XX in which you can define a “completely unspecified” date.

  • Frow now on, it’s possible to display custom fields in the videoplayer of MediaHaven2.0.

  • The values in a date filter can be sorted chronological or reverse chronological.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS The user with the role ‘Consultant’ does not longer need an ingest zone (like “MH2.0 concepts”) to be able to use the selection functionality.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS We’ve added the options to delete a usergroup and ingestzone in the ‘Management & Settings’ module.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS The system settings are moved to our MH2.0 ‘Management & Settings’ module.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS The groups that were created in the background when creating an ingest zone are no longer displayed when managing groups.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS Export locations available to the entire organization are now disabled when managing a user.

  • MANAGEMENT & SETTINGS A warning message is displayed when you have not saved changes to a user.

Bug fixes

  • [MH2.0] After a long period of inactivity in MH2.0 the user remains logged-in and is no longer redirected to antoher MediaHaven environment.

  • [MH2.0] Records without correctly configured geocoordinate or formatted address are no longer hidden on map. These are now shown using a fallback value.

  • [MH2.0] The ‘show more’ button in the filtersearch is now able to search multiple times for more results. Also when selecting 2 options in the filtersearch, the ‘show more’ button searches for more values.

  • [MH2.0] Searching via the search bar on the dashboard takes the user to the all objects page where from now on the entered search term is still visible.

  • [MH2.0] We’ve fixed a bug in which the user who is only part of the group ‘Everyone’ was not able to add objects to his/her selection.

  • [MH2.0] We’ve fixed a bug in which a user with the role ‘Consultant’ was not able to search via the searchbar on the dashboard.

  • [Rest-API] There is a bug fixed so the autopublish functionality can be used again through the API.
