Zeticon is proud to present version 24.2 of the MediaHaven platform. Please read more info about the new functionalities, improvements and fixed bugs below.
As of the 22.3 release, the old MediaHaven website is no longer active. From now on uploading, searching and downloading/sharing digital assets should be done via MediaHaven 2.0.
Please be aware that the content uploader will be no longer available from this version.

Mediahaven 2.0 features
In cooperation with our customers, we keep enhancing our MediaHaven 2.0 product. We’ve continued the development of the following functionalities:
Export only the metadata from a selection of objects
Do you need an overview of all metadata of a certain selection of objects to check or complete this metadata? Or do you have to get approval for destruction of documents from the relevant department?
From now on, you can make an export of a selection of objects in MediaHaven. This export results in a CSV file with the metadata of your choice (based on a predetermined profile) for those objects. For morer detailed information about the batch action to export a CSV file, please check: Batch CSV Exports.
This action will only be visible in the UI if there is an export profile for metadata available in your organisation. Please, contact our support team if you would like to use this feature so we can create the export profile.
Reporting
On the dashboard of the module ‘Settings & management’, we have introduced a report in which the admin users are able to see the total volume of objects in their organisation and the total number of objects per phase. The purpose of this is for the admin to know how much GB is in use so he or she can compare it with the volume purchased in the subscription model.
Admin users with access to (edit) all organisations will see the statistics across all organisations of their environment, regular admins will only see the data of their own organisation. For more detailed information about reporting, please check: Statistics.
Remove content uploader: manage facets and field definitions in MH2.0 interface
All of the functionalities of the content uploader are integrated and available in the API. We’re still working on integrating them in the MediaHaven2.0 interface so admin users and integrators can use more of these functionalities in the future. Currently, the most common admin functions like managing users, ingest zones and groups are already available for regular admins. In this release, we’ve added the functionalities to manage facet profiles and to view the field definitions. At the moment, these admin functions are only available for system admin users.
The full documentation of MH2.0 can be found here: MediaHaven 2.0
Improvements
As with every release, we have made some improvements based on feedback from our end users. You can consult them below.
Search We’ve improved the general search and advanced search functionality to support searching for words with diacritics without indicating them in the search term. E.g. when the metadata contains “pêcheurs”, the following searches hit the object “pecheurs”, “pècheurs”, “pêcheurs”, etc. Please, be aware that autocomplete/suggestions do not work for values containing diacritics. This is also not the case when searching in filters.
Contact admin on portal The functionality to contact an admin about any object was already available within MediaHaven2.0, but now we’ve also introduced this feature on the public portal. Users without a login can now contact the admin of your organisation if they have a question about a certain object.
Inheritance of permissions We’ve improved the inheritance of permissions. If an object has a parent and permissions inheritance is true for both the field definition
RightsManagement.Permissions
and the record type associated with the object: Inherit permissions from the parent excluding the auto-assigned groups. Else, use the manual permissions. For more detailed information about permission inheritance, please check: Permission Inheritance.Visualization of new field types In the UI, we now support the visualization of a URL field. In this field, the user can enter a valid URL. We have also introduced the possibility to add a label next to your URL. Clicking on the label or URL opens the desired website.
Visualization of field type We’ve improved the visualization of a ComplexListField of PositionFields. By doing this, the “Show on map” functionality is also available when you want to indicate multiple locations for one object. The subfields of a position/location are now hidden but can be viewed in a pop-up.
Manage roles For integrators and system admins who can manage roles, we’ve added the possibility to filter the roles on organisation.
Manage groups When adding users to a group, the system users can no longer be selected because this resulted in an error when saving the group. From now on, you can also add more than 20 users to a group at once.
Relations Since the previous version of MediaHaven, it is possible to use custom object types. From this version, it is possible to create relations for all object types.
Destruction module Objects that are approved for destruction or that are definitely destructed remain in the published phase. Before, they were transferred to the archive phase but this was not desired.
SIP upload If you’re uploading assets with metadata by using the SIP upload, these SIP objects are now also visualized in MediaHaven. In this way, you can easily follow-up the processing and error messages of these SIP uploads.
Upload When ingesting as data objects the original representation will be deleted permanently when the data object is rejected (e.g. virus).
Change password The change password functionality now supports all characters and there is a minimum length of 12 characters.
Metadata export We now support more IPTC tags for exporting objects with metadata burning, see https://www.iptc.org/std/photometadata/specification/IPTC-PhotoMetadata#metadata-properties.
API We’ve improved the MediaHaven 2.0 front-end performance by streamlining the API requests.
API We did some improvements to our batches. For more detailed information about batches, please check the page: Batches.
By using the API, you can request the errors occured on the batch.
The batch action will be aborted if 20% of the actions in the batch fail.
And batches are deleted after 30 days.
Bug fixes
[MH2.0] When downloading a single object or when downloading a bulk selection of objects, in both cases the original filename is used. This has been fixed in version 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] After clicking the 'view metadata' action on an intellectual object, the system incorrectly took the user to the object's content page. This has been changed in version 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] In some cases, the location disappeared in the interface when editing an object. This has been fixed in version 23.3, 23.4, 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] The button ‘Next result’ when viewing objects on the full page was unresponsive when using Google Chrome or MS Edge. This has been fixed in version 23.3, 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] The number of results on a page, set in the user profile, was not maintained after adding a search term or filter. This has been fixed in version 23.3, 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] The share link on the public portal is available again. This has been fixed in version 24.1 and 24.2.
[MH2.0] The help text of the Authors fields was placed above the title of that field. This is now consistent with the other fields.
[Settings and management] The search context is now saved after opening a detail page in the module settings and management.
