Record Structure

Introduction

This term categorizes record type according to its position in the Record Trees MediaHaven or Record Trees DigiHaven. Each of the Record Typeshas as a property what its record structure is.

Classifications	An object at the top of the tree (hence without parent) that has intellectual, data and flat data objects as children.	Disallowed	Classification	Series
Intellectual Objects	An object in upper half of the tree that offers structure without corresponding to a file or representation below it, i.e. a collection, dossier.	Disallowed	Mh2Collection, Newspaper, NewspaperPage	Dossier
Data Objects	An object that has a number of representations objects as direct children.	Required	Media	Document
Representation Object	An object that represents the data object in 4 forms. A representation can be a combination of these forms. Original Preservation Access Physical	Required	Representation	Representation
Flat Data Object	A data object which has the original and preview stored in itself. Files in MediaHaven 1.0 and 2.0 are currently stored using these flat data objects. In future MediaHaven 2.0 will switch to data objects for uploading files.	Allowed	Record
