Release notes version 22.4

Zeticon is proud to present version 22.4 of the MediaHaven platform. Please read more info about the new functionalities, improvements and fixed bugs below.

As of the 22.3 release, the old MediaHaven website is no longer active. From now on uploading, searching and downloading/sharing digital assets should be done via MediaHaven 2.0!

The content uploader is still available for managing the settings. We can already announce that this will be present at least until version 23.4

Mediahaven 2.0 features

In cooperation with our customers, we keep enhancing our MediaHaven 2.0 product. We’ve continued the development of following functionalities:

Manage ingest zones and groups in the new management application

In addition to MH2.0, we have developed a new web-based application in which all settings can be managed. In the second release of this application, we have worked on the management of ingest zones and groups. From now on, you can create new and change existing zones and groups via the MH2.0 management application. You will see a link to the management application appear on your dashboard in MH2.0 as soon as you have the admin role or one of the management functions. For more information about this application or new features, please read the manual/documentation.

Bulk operation for all objects in your search results

Easily add additional metadata, modify or delete existing metadata of all your search results via the new bulk actions. Previously, this was limited to the number of results displayed on a single page. As such large bulk actions impact the system's engine, they can only be performed by admin users. How to perform a bulk action can be found in the manual/documentation.

Cropping

MediaHaven’s cropping feature allows you to quickly and easily adjust your image directly in your asset library. There are no additional external programs needed, which will save you a huge amount of time or perhaps money. Simply modify your file and download it immediately. The user can decide which part of the asset he/she needs and whether or not he/she wishes to keep the aspect ratio.

Edit the thesaurus suggestion during evaluation

It was previously possible to evaluate suggestions for the thesaurus and include them in the tree structure associated with that particular metadata field. From now on, you can also start editing that suggestion, allowing you to change the label or assign translations and synonyms. All this completely managed by yourself, without intervention from our helpdesk.

Improvements

As with every release, we have made some improvements based on feedback from our end users. You can consult them below.

  • Prior to a subsequent upgrade or whenever the system is put into read-only or read-export-only mode, each user will see a warning message at the top of the MediaHaven website. This message indicates that the system will soon be temporarily unavailable.

  • The permissions determined on the classification are now inherited on the underlying objects in concept. For published items, the permissions as set when publishing the item, are maintained.

  • Import module The import module was converted to rest api V2 so that it can upload and process assets in a similar way as in MediaHaven.

  • IMPORT MODULE The language of the import module is now automatically set on the language of the logged-in user who opened the module.

  • IMPORT module The thumbnails are shown when describing items together in the import module.

  • FILTER From now on, you can filter on all objects for which no value has been assigned for that specific metadata field. This can be done simply by indicating the relevant option in the filter (e.g. "No Keyword").

  • FILTER When refreshing the screen, the application lost the already selected filters. This has now been changed so that even after refresh, the filters and any search terms are retained.

  • FILTER It’s now possible to filter on task (TaskType) and classification which is linked to the assets.

  • When describing in bulk or describing one item, the system will now display duplicate keywords. So that you no longer have to store both words in lowercase or uppercase in the metadata. This also simplifies searching via the filters for these words.

  • From now on, you can search by the name and ID of a user, ingest zone or group in the management and settings module.

  • Customers with multi-tenant environments can now create new users via the management & settings module and link them to an external group. Creating a new group and linking external users is also possible.

  • The pagination options are now also available at the top of the page.

  • It’s now possible to share items from the selection.

Bug fixes

  • [MH2.0] Masterdetail did not always display the correct metadata of the selected object. This has now been fixed.

  • [MH2.0] Some users were not able to see the taks list because of missing functions in the user roles.

  • [MH2.0] Sorting on creation date does work again as expected.

  • [MH2.0] Filters gave sometimes the wrong number of results or did not update after indicating a search term. This is now fixed.

  • [MH2.0] Deleting a location or making a description field empty and saving the metadata is now working as expected.

  • [Manage and settings] Translation typo in user role is fixed.

  • [Manage and settings] Groups and zones are now loaded when creating a new user.

  • [Manage and settings] A user with the “Viewer” role was still able to see concepts. This has been fixed.
