Release notes version 25.1

Zeticon is proud to present version 25.1 of the MediaHaven platform. Please read more info about the new functionalities, improvements and fixed bugs below.

Contents:

Mediahaven 2.0 features

In cooperation with our customers, we keep enhancing our MediaHaven 2.0 product. We’ve continued the development of the following functionalities:

Reporting module

We are excited to introduce a new Reporting module, designed to provide admin users with valuable insights into the use of their MediaHaven environment. This new functionality offers quick and accessible reporting on key activities and features within the platform. Admin users with access to the “Settings and Management” module and the ‘view_reporting’ permission can now access these reports.

Available Reports:

  1. Downloads per Day: Track daily download activity.

  2. Most Popular Downloads: Identify the most frequently downloaded objects.

  3. Top Uploaders: View the users uploading the highest number of objects.

  4. Logins Overview: Monitor platform login activity.

Each report has its own set of filters so you can easily obtain the needed information. This feature is designed to help admins make data-driven decisions and better understand how MediaHaven is being used.

Resumable uploads

Need to upload large files regularly? Our new Resumable Uploads functionality has you covered! With this feature, you can pause and resume uploads of large files, enabling seamless uploads even beyond the typical browser limitations. Say goodbye to interruptions and hello to hassle-free file uploads! This is the perfect feature for users working with high-resolution video, extensive datasets, or other large file types.

True size grid view

From now on, We show the true size of an object in the grid view. With this enhancement, objects can now be displayed in their true proportions.

Key benefits:

  • Complete Previews: See the entire object preview without any resizing or cropping.

  • Accurate Representation: Images and objects are displayed exactly as they are, providing a more reliable and visually consistent experience.

This update ensures that you can view your content exactly as intended, without any distortions or missing details. Perfect for users who require precise and complete visuals when describing items! This is an organisation wide setting. (Please contact our support team if you want to keep the grid view as before.)

Improvements for downloads

We’ve heard your feedback! Our team has streamlined the download process to make it more user-friendly. All download options, including cropping, exporting with metadata, and choosing a specific export location, are now conveniently centralized in one overview. These improvements simplify navigation, making it faster and easier to manage your downloads while directly addressing concerns about scattered options.

Boolean search

From now on, you can add boolean operators such as AND and OR to your search in the advanced search, in addition to the previously supported INCLUSIVE and EXCLUSIVE (NOT) functionality.

Key benefits:

  • Enhance precision: allowing you to narrow down results to find exactly what you need by combining or excluding specific terms.

  • Save time: filter out irrelevant information quickly.

  • Improved quality of search results: greater flexibility to build complex searches.

Improvements

As with every release, we have made some improvements based on feedback from our end users. You can consult them below.

Field labels Field labels for complex list fields are now displayed on both edit and read-only pages. Additionally, sublabel fields are now presented in italics, enhancing the readability of pages and metadata profiles.

user registration The user registration form now supports special characters.

No preview We’ve improved the ‘No preview’ handling: When the first child of an intellectual object has no preview, the system will automatically select another child as the preview.

Transformations When audio is present in the uploaded data object, a peak file is generated for each stream/track representing the audio waveform.

cUSTOM RECORD TYPES The already existing features ‘embed code’, ‘Cropping’ and ‘fragment creation for video or audio files' are now also supported for custom record types.

UPLOAD

  • Only published classifications are shown when uploading objects. This prevents errors from occurring when loading the metadata profiles for a newly uploaded object.

  • When you upload objects without a classification, the system will automatically fall back to the default classification of that organisation.

Saved searches From now on, it’s possible to save your search when you used an OR filter.

Management module In the list of users, we now display the role(s) of the user and the last login.

Clicking behavior IN UI We’ve improved the clicking behavior in the UI gridview so that it is consistent with the listview.

  • Clicking on the thumbnail opens a new preview page.

  • Selecting the object and then clicking on the thumbnail opens a preview screen. When you exit this preview screen, you’ll see that your selection is still checked.

  • If you select the object and click next to the thumbnail, the master-detail panel opens on the right side.

Bug fixes

[Permissions Admin role] The administrator role did not have the user function to access the reporting module. This bug caused the report on consumed volume and number of objects per phase to be unavailable.

[Translation of boolean fields in the facets] When setting a boolean field as a facet, the values were displayed as 0 and 1. We’ve fixed this so that we display True or False for boolean fields in the facets.

[Submit with special characters in the comment] We’ve fixed a bug so that it is possible to submit an object when you enter special characters like ““ in the comment of your task.

[Clicking on an address to search] We’ve fixed a bug so that clicking on an address of an object to search for other objects with that address returns the same number of objects as searching for that address in the general search bar.

[Accessibility of values in a dropdown] We’ve fixed a bug so that it is possible to select a value in a dropdown that is at the bottom of the page.

[Thesaurus suggestions] New suggested terms for a thesaurus field are now correctly saved on a new collection.
